The president of Chile’s Chamber of Deputies Aldo Cornejo who is currently in Greece on an official visit, expressed on Friday his support for the cause of the reunification of Parthenon Marbles.
Following his visit to the new Acropolis Museum on Thursday, Mr. Cornejo enjoyed a tour on Friday that included stops at the Athens Acropolis, the Temple of Olympian Zeus and the Panathenian Stadium.
Referring to the importance of the museum and the sculptures missing from its collection, Mr. Cornejo said that these sculptures are part of the world’s heritage and stressed that it would have been “better if they had never left”, adding that they should now be returned to the place where they were created.
