Passersby were stunned when they saw a moving vehicle engulfed in flames, this morning, in the area of Mastaba Rethymno, Crete.
According to reports, the 70-year-old driver of the vehicle is in good health as he managed to abandon the vehicle in time and was uninjured.
The driverless car was moving backward out of control and given the rush hour – around 8 am – the incident could have turned out to be very serious and dangerous for other drivers or pedestrians due to the traffic on the road at that time.
The car stopped its “crazy” course in a house yard, while the fire brigade immediately arrived at the scene and extinguished the fire, and luckily the worst was avoided.
