TUI Germany extends tourism season in Greece until mid-November due to high demand

According to the German head, Greece, Mallorca, and Turkey will be particularly popular with TUI travellers this summer

Greece, Turkey, and Mallorca in Spain will be the most popular destinations for this summer among customers of the TUI travel group. Especially for Greece, TUI plans to extend the tourist season until November.

“This year’s season is expected to be particularly strong, while in recent weeks the number of travelers has exceeded that of 2019 for the first time “, points out the head of TUI Germany, Stefan Baumert in a statement. As he points out, those interested made reservations much earlier in order to secure better prices, as the cost of vacations this year exceeds that before the pandemic.

“The interest in travel is so great that in some destinations we have had to request extra beds,” he adds.

According to Baumert, Greece, Mallorca, and Turkey will be particularly popular with TUI travellers this summer.  Due to increased demand, TUI will extend the season in Greece and make the destination available until mid-November”, he points out and also mentions that travellers’ preferences have changed after the pandemic: “Travellers do not compromise on quality, but they consider the final destination a lot. Anyone who used to travel to distant destinations now goes to southern Europe or northern Africa,” explains the head of TUI Germany.

Stefan Baumert also assures that there will be no repeat of last year’s scenes of chaos at German airports this year, as the necessary preparations have been made for the additional burden. Also, TUI’s airline, TUIfly, has sufficient flight staff, and a fixed flight schedule. And 12-13 planes on hand to cover any gaps.
