“Greece is prepared to deal with Ebola virus, should a suspected case of Ebola be reported in the country,” Health Minister Makis Voridis told private ANT1 TV on Thursday.

Mr. Voridis underlined that Greece has complied with the World Health Organization’s directives. He also added that travel directives have been placed in all exit and entrance points of the country and special directives apply for the travelers who are coming from countries of high risk.

The Health Minister noted that, should a suspected case of Ebola be reported in the country, “a reference hospital has been chosen, a specific building with specialized staff, equipment and laboratory that will be able to perform the analysis needed in order to confirm whether its Ebola or not.”

However, Mr. Voridis refused to name the specific hospital adding that an announcement will be made by the end of the month.
