Thessaloniki Food Festival, which runs from October -December 2014, aims to promote and upgrade local gastronomy and establish the city as a centre of culinary tourism.

The festival was organized for the first time in 2011, and since then it has attracted thousands of foodies who come to Thessaloniki from all over the world, to taste the amazing local delicacies, including the world famous Trigono Panoramatos (triangle pastry with custard), Mpougatsa (Greek breakfast pastry consisting of either semolina custard, cheese, or minced meat filling) and the lowly, yet delicious, koulouri (traditional Greek sesame-coated bread ring).

The rich program of the festival includes several interesting events, such as “Yummy Museums”, an initiative that presents culinary creations inspired by works of art, fundraising galas, cooking lessons that take place in the city’s open markets etc.

Throughout the festival, several restaurants in the city will offer delicious menus with only 10 euro every Tuesday night. The list is constantly updated.
