“The answer we got is negative for the descent of tractors in Athens, but we believe that the government will reconsider and, as in all European cities in the corresponding and similar mobilizations, the same will happen in our country,” said Rizos Maroudas, president of the Federation of Agricultural Associations of Larissa, after the meeting with Michael Chrysochoidis.

“As representatives of the blockades that we met with the minister, we declare that we will implement the decision we took yesterday in Nikaia.

On Tuesday we will start with tractors, buses and cars and will descend to Athens for the big rally, to which we call the people of the capital to fight this battle together.

Our victory will be a victory for the people to have cheaper products on their table,” he added.

Maroudas stressed that there is already a sufficient number of tractors to start on Tuesday for Athens, in addition to buses and agricultural vehicles.

Based on the data that emerged after the farmers’ meeting with Chrysochoidis, general assemblies will be held in the blockades to decide how the descent to Athens will be carried out, how many and which tractors will participate.

At the Platykambos junction blockade, the meeting will take place at 5:30 in the afternoon.

Recalled that shortly before 14:00 completed the meeting of the Minister of Civil Protection, Michalis Chrysochoidis, with representatives of the agricultural blockades that took place today at noon at the Ministry of Internal Affairs (Macedonia – Thrace) to determine how the descent of farmers to the large rally to be held in Athens next week.

According to the farmers, the minister said “no” to the farmers’ descent with their tractors to Athens, with the farmers saying they are determined to go with their tractors to the capital despite the ban.

We from Northern Greece will come down with buses and trucks (loaded with tractors).

We do not intend to create problems, we stressed this to the minister.

We will stay 24 hours.

There will be no problems if there is a good understanding with the police.
