A new weather advisory was issued recently by the National Meteorological Service.
The Special Weather Bulletin for Deteriorating Weather issued on 29-02-2024/1100 is being updated to the latest forecast data.
According to the latest forecast models, heavy rain and thunderstorms will continue until Saturday morning (March 2-3, 2024), accompanied by frequent lightning and possibly hailstorms.
Winds in the southeastern Aegean will be strong, reaching 7 and locally 8 Beaufort.
Detailed weather forecast:
Friday (01-03-24)
a. Showers and thunderstorms, locally strong, are expected in central and eastern Macedonia, Thessaly, eastern Sterea (including Attica), temporarily in eastern Peloponnese, gradually affecting the Sporades, Evia, and the Cyclades.
b. During the evening hours, the phenomena will continue in central and eastern Macedonia and in the eastern Cyclades, gradually affecting the islands of the northern and eastern Aegean and the Dodecanese.
Saturday (02/03/24)
The intense phenomena will continue until morning in central and eastern Macedonia (mainly Halkidiki), the islands of the northern and eastern Aegean, and the Dodecanese, gradually weakening.

The extreme weather persists in most parts of the country, with rain, thunderstorms, and a drop in temperature.
Specifically, today, Friday, rain is expected in mainland areas, except eastern Macedonia, Thrace, and Epirus, while rain and thunderstorms will occur in maritime, island, and coastal areas of the Aegean, except for the northeastern and southeastern parts.
