Greek exports to Austria increased by 22.5% over the first half of 2014, compared to the same period in 2013, according to Commercial Counsellor of Austria in Athens, Bruno Freitag, whereas the total value of the imports reached 143.1 million euros.
Austrian exports to Greece during the first half of 2014 did not show a change (192.6 million euros).
Mr. Freitag said that Austrian exports to Greece have decreased by half since 2008 with their then total value at 753.3 million. In 2013 their total value was at 386.6 million euros, with the construction sector (industrial products, machinery and materials) being mostly affected.
The only comfort, he noted, was that this was the average for the European Union overall, since all member-states have all seen their exports reduced by half.
