The exodus of Easter excursionists continues with too many people leaving the big cities to spend the holy days traditionally close to nature and their families. The 24-hour strike by the PNO has forced many to postpone their holidays by a day, but from today ferries will unlock the docks. In fact, the weakening of the winds will help for a smoother journey to the islands.
“The safety of coastal transport is our top priority,” said Maritime and Island Policy Minister Christos Stylianides, who visited the port of Piraeus and specifically gate E-7 this morning, ahead of the departure of Easter excursionists.
According to the booking system of the companies for today Thursday 02/05 from the port of Piraeus 22 ship departures with 25,574 passenger departures have been scheduled, while from the port of Rafina 10 departures with 10,870 passengers.
Yesterday, on Wednesday, 11 ship departures with 11,305 passenger departures were made from the port of Piraeus after 12 midnight, due to the strike of the PNE for May Day.
