Postal vote: From tomorrow, the envelopes will be mailed to the 202,515 individuals who will vote remotely

Deputy Minister of Interior, Thodoris Livaniou, reassured once again the representatives of all parties about the integrity of the process

Today, Wednesday (8/5), printed electoral ballots were completed for 202,515 voters who had registered by April 29th on the special platform of the Ministry of Interior’s to vote remotely by postal ballot in the European elections on June 9, 2024.

As reported by protothema.gr, on the onset of Thursday (9/5) the process of sending the envelopes to all registered voters will begin for those who reside both in Greece and in over 120 countries from different corners of the world. The dispatch of envelopes is undertaken by the courier service of ELTA and the private courier company ACS, which cooperates with the international companies DHL and UPS, respectively. Therefore, by the middle of next week, when the receipt and dispatch of the material by the courier companies will be completed, each registered individual will receive at the address they have provided an envelope containing the following:

1. Multi-page document with detailed instructions for the remote voting process as well as the lists of candidates for Members of the European Parliament from all parties.

2. Ballot paper.

3. Voting envelope in which the ballot paper must be placed.

4. Application – affidavit for postal voting.

5. The return envelope for the postal vote, which will be delivered to the courier company to transport it to the special location where all postal votes will be collected.

The Deputy Minister of Interior, Thodoris Livaniou, guided members of the Interparty Committee today reassuring once again the representatives of all parties about the integrity of the process, which is absolutely guaranteed and ensured by senior officials of the Judiciary who will oversee the opening, sorting, and counting of postal votes.
