The ministry announces now that the mosaic of Amphipolis tomb has been revealed.

The person next to the man with the beard is Persephone and it is certain that the mosaic represents the abduction of Persephone by Pluto.

Persephone wears a white robe and raises her left hand.

Pluto wears a red robe, whereas Hermes wears a yellow one.

According to the ministry announcement “It is a perfect representation not only because of the many colours used, but also because of its perfect design”.

“It is obvious that the mosaic represents the abduction of Persephone, in the so-called Tomb of Persephone”.
