Fire has been raging for some time in low vegetation in the Zefiria area, near the airport of Milos.
Strong winds are blowing in the area, which is hampering the work of firefighting forces, and so far, no homes are threatened.
In fact, a message from “112” was sent to citizens to move away from the beach Tsigrado to Provata: “Forest fire in Milos. If you are on Tsigrado beach, please move away towards Provatas” the message reads.

To extinguish the fire, 47 firefighters with 3 teams of hiking teams, 5 vehicles, 2 aircraft and 2 helicopters including:
– 1 team of hiking section of the 1st EMODE that was transported by a helicopter of the Civil Guard from Athens
– 2 teams of hiking sections of the 1st EMODE travelling by air and
– 20 firefighters with 5 vehicles of the Special Motorized Firefighting Operations Department (METPE) travelling by ferry from Piraeus.
Volunteer firefighters are assisting in the extinguishing work with water-bearing vehicles and water-bearing vehicles of local authorities.
