The Rhodes port has safely disembarked the 109 passengers of the Antigua & Barbuda flagged day cruise boat that struck the Rhodes port pier during the docking operations.
The ship was sailing from the port of Marmarida, Turkey, to Rhodes, with one hundred and nine passengers, who were safely disembarked.
As a result of the collision, minor damage was caused to the ship above the waterline, while there was no water ingress and no marine pollution was observed as a result of the incident.
The Central Port Authority of Rhodes prohibited the vessel from sailing until the damage has been repaired and a certificate of airworthiness has been presented by the classification society that is monitoring the vessel, while the passengers are to be forwarded to their destination at the company’s discretion.
