The Prime Minister raises the tones of the electoral confrontation. From Thessaloniki, he delivers a campaign speech, attacking main opposition leader Alexis Tsipras, arguing that SYRIZA’s aim was that the country becomes a new Argentina.

“They want us to leave the Euro and tear up the memoranda”, stated Mr. Samaras mentioning SYRIZA, without naming him: “Let’s see what happened in Argentina… Twelve years after bankruptcy they still have problems…On the inside, Argentina is sinking into poverty…And this is a country with huge exports like Argentina…Think about what would happen here if we followed what some of them were suggesting…”

The Prime Minister took stock of the past two years that he has been at the driving seat of the country. Mr. Samaras talked about the steps that were made so that the country would not be faced with damnation, and could slowly recover, while he acknowledged and underlines the sacrifices made by the Greek people.

“We see everything, and we are fixing everything, step by step”, stated the PM. “I know that there have been injustices. We will make them right”, he noted, adding that “we avoided destruction once and for all”.
