August will bid us farewell with instability according to the weather forecasts. As both Thodoros Kolydas and Klearchos Marousakis say in their posts, cold air masses coming from Ukraine, where they will be over our region via the Black Sea, will bring rain and thunderstorms until the end of the week.
“Localised showers in the west and north are likely with rainfall totals today reaching a maximum of 10 to 15 mm. By Thursday, however, the “buckets” will slowly accumulate around 50 to 70 mm of rain locally. The instability will last until Saturday,” according to the director of the National Weather Service.
Marousakis: August curtain falls with showers and thunderstorms
The week ahead of us opens with highly unstable weather, especially from Wednesday and then with the mercury in gradual decline, Klearhos Marousakis says in a post.
According to the OPEN meteorologist’s forecast, August will bid us farewell with rain, thunderstorms and a drop in temperature. The warm air from the coast of North Africa starts to slowly rise towards central Europe, resulting in colder air masses descending towards our country from eastern and northeastern Europe via Ukraine. So due to the temperature difference between the surface and the higher layers of the atmosphere, instability will be created throughout the week.
