The multi-winning coach of the national water polo team and the most successful in terms of results in its history, Thodoris Vlachos, was honored by the Port Master of the Spetses Port Authority, Commander Panagiotis Maridakis.
Winning the 5th place in the Paris Olympics showed that Greece is consistently among the top forces in the sport worldwide.
“Today I had the great honor and pleasure to welcome to the Port Authority of Spetses my dear friend and colleague and Olympic champion coach of the national water polo team, Commodore L.S. Theodore Vlachos and to present him with the historic coat of arms of the Port Authority. We wish God to keep him always healthy and strong for more success in all international competitions.”
For his part, Thodoris Vlachos said:
“On my beloved island of Spetses which I visit with my family every year, I had the special honor of receiving the historic Thyre of the Port Authority of Spetses from my dear friend and colleague, the Port Authority Commander, Commodore Panagiotis Maridakis. It is not only my status as a Federal coach but the honor is greater to receive this historic coat of arms as a Commander of the Coast Guard.”
