Father of 19-Year-Old Who Died at Halkidiki Amusement Park Appears in Supreme Court Today

He is scheduled to meet with Georgia Adilini, the prosecutor of the Supreme Court

Newsroom September 2 09:15

The Supreme Court will see the father of 19-year-old John who died at an amusement park in Halkidiki walk through the door of the Aristopagus this morning.

The father of the slain youth, George Kaibalis, is expected to meet with the Supreme Court prosecutor, Georgia Adilini.

The Forensic Report

Self-made from stapled machinery and without any certification seems to have been the fatal toy at the amusement park of Halkidiki where Yiannis was killed, according to a qualified technician who checked the machine after the request submitted by the 19-year-old’s father was approved.

According to ERT, it appears that the 19-year-old’s death could have been avoided, based on what is known so far.

The father of the 19-year-old requested an inspection by a specialist from a private company that certifies recreational equipment, which was approved by the Thessaloniki Appeals Prosecutor’s Office.

Also, according to the expert witness of the Chalkidiki Prosecutor’s Office, the fatal injury of the 19-year-old was due to the breaking of the metal base of the cabin of the toy. The breakage occurred because the machine had corroded. This implies that the accident took place due to the corrosion and not due to speed, which played a role in the child falling at high speed to the ground and losing his life.

The expert appointed by the Prosecutor’s Office of Halkidiki, in his conclusions also states that it is a case of a self-made machine with stapled parts, which he says means that those who built the machine could have prevented any accident. They knew that the machine would break down because they were building it.

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis assured farmers that all payments owed to them will be delivered in full, emphasizing that while agricultural workers have every right to demand more support, “extreme forms of protest, such as roadblocks, may exert pressure but ultimately disrupt daily life and do not help us move forward faster”
