Beautiful Papingo is part of the municipality Zagori. It is located in the Vikos–Aoös National Park and it actually consists of two villages: big and small Papingo.
The area and the neighbouring Vikos Gorge, the largest canyon in Greece attracts many hikers and mountaineers from around the world.
