The Israeli army today urged residents of more than 20 additional southern Lebanese towns to evacuate immediately, according to a post by Israeli military spokesperson Avichay Adraee on the social media platform X.

A Lebanese security source told Reuters today that three people were injured in an Israeli strike targeting rescuers linked to Lebanon’s Shiite movement Hezbollah.

Earlier, Lebanese authorities had announced that an Israeli military strike in the eastern part of the country, near the Lebanon-Syria border, blocked a road used by hundreds of thousands of people attempting to flee Israeli bombardments.

An Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) spokesperson accused Hezbollah yesterday, Thursday, of using the crossing to transport military equipment from Syria to Lebanon.
