The Open House project began in London in 1992 and has since spread to another 21 cities around the world, including Athens. The first Open House event in Thessaloniki took place in 2012. A number of private buildings of architectural significance were included in the Open House event that took place on Saturday and Sunday. Local engineers and architecture students took visitors on tours of a jumble of baroque, neoclassical and other decorative styles.
