A heartbreaking incident occurred at the World Triathlon Championship in Torremolinos, southern Spain, where two participants lost their lives during the event.

According to announcements made by the federations of Great Britain and Mexico, the two men tragically died on the first day of the championship. However, the exact circumstances surrounding their deaths have not been disclosed.

The British federation has not released the name of one of the deceased athletes, while the Mexican federation confirmed that the other was Roger Mas Colomer, a 75-year-old participant.
