Deputy PM and FM Venizelos met with former PASOK leader George Papandreou

Mr. Venizelos stated that they had a "very friendly and positive" discussion

Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister and PASOK leader Evangelos Venizelos met on Thursday with former PASOK leader and PM George Papandreou.

After the meeting which lasted for approximately one hour and 45 minutes, Mr. Venizelos stated that they had a “very friendly and positive” discussion about a variety of topics, including international issues, the developments in the economy and the negotiation with the troika of Greece’s international lenders.

Asked whether he had asked Mr. Papandreou to offer his support, Mr. Venizelos answered that this is something he requests from everyone.

The Deputy PM also said that he is open to a new meeting and noted that on Friday he is scheduled to meet with another former PASOK leader, namely Costas Simitis.
