The work of Stefanos Tsivopoulos, History Zero, is presented for the first time in Greece and is the work with which he represented our country at the 55th Venice Biennale 2013.
The artist, who won the international audience at last year’s Venice Biennale, is appreciated for his modest but perfectly stable course in arts for many years.
The History Zero is a film consisted of three episodes and a record of images and text on alternative currencies. Through the stories of three different people the value of money and its role in human relationships are investigated in a poetic way.
An immigrant from Africa who is looking metal objects in the trash, an artist from abroad who collects images of the streets of Athens looking for his inspiration for his next project and an art collector who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease seem to be three different versions of the same coin.
