Nikolaos Gyzis: “Grandmother’s Fairy Tale” painting donated to the Panhellenic Holy Foundation of Evangelistria of Tinos

The donation of the painting to the foundation was the wish of the late Dimitrios Karagounis

The painting Grandmother’s Fairy Tale by the renowned Greek painter Nikolaos Gyzis was donated to the Panhellenic Holy Foundation of Evangelistria of Tinos. This donation was a wish of the late benefactor Dimitrios Karagounis, fulfilled by his widow, Eleni Karagouni.

The handover of the painting was conducted by His Eminence, Metropolitan of Syros and Tinos, Dorotheos II, who is also the President of the Foundation. The event was attended by the Vice President of the Foundation’s Administrative Board, the Archpriest Bishop of Tinos, and lawyer Dimitris Siotis.

Previously, Grandmother’s Fairy Tale was securely stored in an ALPHA BANK safe in Athens. This donation was carried out in accordance with Dimitrios Karagounis’ final wishes.

On behalf of the members of the Foundation’s Administrative Committee, His Eminence Dorotheos II expressed heartfelt gratitude to Eleni Karagouni for this profound gesture of love and generosity toward the Holy Foundation.
