Main opposition Coalition of the Left SYRIZA party says that leaks from Maximus Mansion, the official seat of the Greek prime minister, were trumped up and bear “no relation to reality.” The party spent most of Thursday in Greek Parliament deflecting criticism that there had been contact between two of its deputies with investors in London. The party’s two lawmakers that are being accused are Yiannis Milios and Giorgos Stathakis. They allegedly met with several market representatives in Athens according to leaked internal e-mails.

Mr. Stathakis denied the authenticity of the leaked e-mails. He added that Capital representative Joerg Sponer who is reportedly the author of the e-mail wasn’t even at a meeting he had in London.

SYRIZA representative Panos Skourletis says that the e-mail was published with a signature that was later deleted. Sources from London state that officials that met with SYRIZA were interested in the opposition’s positions.

“SYRIZA’s positions now have an international audience, which comprehends that an integrated solution is necessary to make debt sustainable so that the Greek economy can recover,” said Mr. Stathakis.
