“It’s not the first time that an error was made in the exit polls, resulting in creating confusion and inconvenience to citizens, while voting was still open, since it is usual for results to be leaked beforehand. There should be a strict check on this matter”, stated Interior Minister Yannis Michelakis, in an interview on Alpha 9.89 radio.

Regarding his letter to the President of the Polling and Market Research Association, the Minister of the Interior suggested that Sunday exit polls are waived, until the causes of the error margin failure are investigated.

Mr. Michelakis replied, inter alia, to SYRIZA’s announcement on Mr. Sgouros’ candidacy.

“My views on Mr. Sgouros are known and I have publicly expressed them before. I believe that Koumoutsakos’ nomination was the best. Attica missed an important opportunity. This is my personal opinion. The people of Attica decided that two other candidates should go to the second round. The citizens have the judgment and will decide who is worthy of Attica, this Sunday”, he said.
