Crete: Many dead rats in the port of Heraklion

Cleanup crews have been dispatched to handle the situation

Newsroom November 21 04:25

Dead rats were discovered in the waters of the port of Heraklion, Crete. Port and health authorities were immediately mobilized.

It is believed that recent heavy rains forced the rodents out of the sewer systems and into the sea. Another theory suggests the rats may have already been dead before ending up in the water, according to reports from neakriti.gr.

Following the discovery, a cleanup operation was organized, involving crews and port officials to address the issue.
