GPO Poll: ND leads with 25.8%, PASOK in second, fragmented opposition – SYRIZA falls fifth

SYRIZA at just 5.8%, while 89.7% of respondents believe it will not return to power. PASOK gains 17.4%, and KKE secures third with 7.9%

The latest GPO poll for Parapolitika 90.1 FM reveals New Democracy (ND) maintaining its lead, with a fragmented opposition trailing behind.

Specifically, when asked, “If parliamentary elections were held tomorrow, which party would you likely vote for?”, respondents gave ND 25.8% of the vote, followed by PASOK at 17.4%. SYRIZA dropped to fifth place, garnering just 5.8%.

In third place is the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) with 7.9%, narrowly ahead of the Hellenic Solution party at 7.7%. After SYRIZA, the Voice of Reason party, led by Aphrodite Latinopoulou, takes sixth place with 5.3%. Plefsi Eleftherias (Course of Freedom) and Niki follow with 3.4% and 3.2%, respectively.

55.9% Expect Coalition Government

The poll also revealed that 55.9% of respondents anticipate a coalition government after the next elections, while 33.5% foresee a single-party majority government.

46.3% Support Samaras’ Expulsion

Regarding the expulsion of former Prime Minister Antonis Samaras, 46.3% of respondents believe the decision was justified, while 35% think it was unwarranted.

On the potential electoral cost of Samaras’ removal, opinions were divided: 47.9% believe it will harm ND, while 42.7% think it will not.

SYRIZA’s Decline

Respondents were also asked about SYRIZA’s trajectory following its internal splits and leadership changes. A striking 89.7% believe SYRIZA will not regain power regardless of who leads the party.
