Rally for prisoner’s right to study ends in rioting (photos + videos)

Thousands of people took to the streets to support hunger striker Nikos Romanos' right to study, but the rally ended in violence

Newsroom December 3 09:45

As many as 10,000 protestors rallied for jailed hunger strike anarchist Nikos Romanos’ right to study at an institute after being successful at his Panhellenic exams. The 21-year-old young man in jail for robbery is demanding to study, however the prosecutor denied this right. Greek comedians, celebrities, the staff of the hospital where he is currently being treated and a large faction of society supports the young man, however his desire to study cannot be facilitated by the Greek prison system.
