All the vexed issues will be discussed at the Samaras – Davutoglu meeting

The relaunch of negotiations on Cyprus issue, the Aegean, the building confidence measures, the Muslim minority in Thrace, will be included in the meeting agenda

Earlier on the Deputy Prime Minister informed the journalists that Cyprus issue which is the key to everything was discussed during the meeting.

Further, Mr. Evangelos Venizelos said that another subject discussed was that the two communities in Cyprus could return to the negotiating table. The Greek government is in contact with the Cypriot leadership.

Mr. Venizelos said that everything said with his counterpart in Ankara  has been confirmed.

The meetings also raised issues relating to confidence-building measures, the delimitation of maritime zones and the application of international law in the Aegean and Eastern Mediterranean.

Even discussed the EU perspective as an entity and Turkey’s relationship with Europe.

On the table were the issues concerning the Muslim minority in Greece and the Greek minority in Turkey, in the light of respect for international law and the protection of rights.
