Ten years in prison for the father who chased his daughter with a knife in Agrinio

A 30-year-old Roma man arrested in Agrinio for domestic violence has been sentenced to 10 years in prison without parole. The man chased his 12-year-old daughter with a knife, hit her with a chair and burned her with a cigarette.

The 30-year-old and his wife were tried and the couple were sentenced for the respective offenses of domestic violence, causing serious bodily harm and exposure.

The father was sentenced to 10 years in prison without parole while the mother was sentenced to three years in prison, of which she will serve six months, according to agrinionews.gr.

The six children in the family will be taken care of by their grandmother, with a relevant order from the competent Prosecutor.

According to the police, the 30-year-old also physically abused four other children aged 6, 9, 10 and 11, while the offenses against the children were committed in the presence of their mother.

In particular, according to the police announcement, a man and his wife were arrested last night in Agrinio by police officers from the Domestic Violence Office of the Agrinio Police Department, against whom a case was opened for the respective offenses of domestic violence, causing dangerous bodily harm and exposure.

The day before yesterday afternoon, the man chased his 12-year-old daughter with a knife, punched her in the face, hit her with a chair and after immobilizing her, caused her burns with a cigarette on the cheek.

The five minor victims of domestic violence and their two-year-old brother were temporarily transferred to Agrinio Hospital for first aid.
