Star World at the Thessaloniki International Trade Fair
Star World (Asterocosmos) kicks off at Kiosks 11, 13 and 14 on December 12. The organizers estimate that over 300,000 people will attend, whereas last year visitors exceeded 210,000. The main drawcard is kiosk 15 that hosts an Icy City.
The ice skating rink is 1,000 square meters large and will be segregated according to ages for the maximum safety.
Christmas cheer will also be abundant at the Trade Fair’s Chocolate workshop that will be decorated with nutcrackers, toy tinmen and drummer boys.
Admission is 7 euros, but children under one meter can enter for free.
No ho ho at Aristoteleion Square
Aristotelio Square at Thessaloniki this year is a semblance of what it was in previous years when there were huge carousels and ferris wheels set up with ice-skating and Santa’s grotto. The special Christmas village had come under a great deal of controversy regarding the cost of rides and expenditure.
Rather than a focus on rides, the square will be filled with Greek tradition and simplicity from December 20. For fifteen days there will be events that children can enjoy for free.
