Significant developments have been recorded in the anti-terrorism investigation surrounding the arsenal recently found in a warehouse in Pangrati. A 49-year-old philologist was arrested in the case and, after his plea, was remanded in custody.
As protothema.gr is informed by well-informed sources, from the investigation conducted on a laptop that was found in the warehouse in Pagrati a text file referring to a notice claiming responsibility for an attack that took place 10 years ago at the offices of banking giant JP Morgan on Haritos street in Kolonaki.
The strike had occurred in mid-February 2010 causing property damage to the building. The attack was preceded by a phone call to the newspaper “Eleftherotypia” in which an unidentified man had given half an hour’s notice, stressing that “this is not a hoax.”
Around two weeks later, the emerging organisation “Revolutionary Continuity” claimed responsibility for the attack in a proclamation sent to the press. So this proclamation is likely to have been written on the computer found in Pankrati.
As well-informed sources explained to protothema.gr: “It was a deleted file that came back. The content was not found, the header of the file was found, the shortcut. It is a file with the same capacity and with the same date and time of creation as the one in the notice of the hit. Analysis shows that this file was exported from this computer on a CD. The file appears to be the same and was headed “notice”“”.
Authorities are now evaluating the new find as a link between the material (weapons and explosives) found in the Pagrati warehouse and the explosion that occurred at the time.
