An elderly woman in Patras fell victim to fraud, throwing bags containing €11,000 off her balcony.

The scammer called the 80-year-old woman from the Agyia area and told her that her daughter had been involved in a car accident. The man pretended to be a doctor and claimed her daughter was seriously injured and needed immediate surgery, according to tempo24.news.

Following a meeting arranged with the scammer’s alleged associate, the woman threw €11,000 in bags from her balcony.

Meanwhile, a similar incident occurred on Tuesday (10/12) in the same area, where an 81-year-old woman handed over 31 gold coins, jewelry, and €500 to scammers to “save” her grandson.

Both cases are being investigated by the police.
