Over 150 World War II bombs discovered in a playground in Britain

The area was a training ground during the war – Unexploded bombs were buried

Newsroom February 10 11:00

Dozens of World War II-era training bombs were accidentally discovered at a playground in Wooler, Northumberland, in northern England.

During maintenance work, two bombs were initially found and removed by British Army bomb disposal experts. The local council then requested a full inspection of the playground.

On the first day of the search, 65 training bombs weighing 10 pounds (about 4.5 kg) and smoke grenades were uncovered. The following day, another 90 training bombs were found.
