Hamas will hand over four bodies to Israel late on Wednesday

Preparations underway in Gaza to receive released Palestinian prisoners

Newsroom February 26 06:25

Hamas’ military wing and Al Jazeera have confirmed that it will hand over the bodies of four hostages to Israel as part of the ceasefire agreement.

The information was also confirmed by the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Hamas is expected to deliver the bodies of Tsahi Idan, Ohad Yahalomi, Itzik Elgarat, and Shlomo Manjour—the four remaining abductees included in the first phase of the hostage agreement, which is set to expire on Saturday.

The transfer is scheduled to take place tonight at 11:00 PM (Israel and Greece time) without any public demonstrations from the Palestinian side—a tactic that had previously angered the Israeli government.

Meanwhile, the Prisoners’ Information Office in Gaza, which is affiliated with Hamas, stated that the European Hospital in Khan Younis is preparing to receive over 600 released Palestinian prisoners, who are expected to arrive between 10:00 PM and midnight.

An Israeli official told Channel 13 that Israel will not release the Palestinian prisoners until it has verified that Hamas has returned the bodies of the deceased hostages as required by the agreement.
