Former U.S. president Bill Clinton’s name has been embroiled into the sex scandal surrounding Prince Andrew following Virginia Roberts’ allegations that she was instructed to have sex with the prince by businessman and convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. Court documents have spotlighted Mr. Clinton as one of the high-profile friends of Mr. Epstein. Mr. Clinton visited Mr. Epstein’s private island and flew on his jet. Mr. Epstein’s phonebook shows 21 phone numbers for Mr. Clinton or his aides.
Though documents show no wrong-doing on Mr. Clinton’s behalf, they have set off speculation concerning what Mr. Clinton’s involvement on the list could mean for Hillar Clinton’s presumed run for the White House.
Ms. Roberts’ lawyer says, in a statement of facts, that the flight logs clearly show that the president frequently flew with Mr. Epstein but suddenly stopped, “raising the suspicion that the friendship abruptly ended, perhaps because of events related to Epstein’s sexual abuse of children.”
In her interview with the Daily Mail in 2011, Ms. Roberts claims to have been a “sex slave” and describes meeting Mr. Clinton while with Mr. Epstein though she says she was never “lent out” to him as she was to Prince Andrew.
