Port charges reduced by 50% for one year

The 50% reduction in land charges from 1 May 2025 is provided for in an amendment article tabled in Parliament.

The Ministry of Shipping regulation aims to curb potential increases in shipping fees and has a duration of 12 months.

The GAO report states, among other things, the following:

The report states that the government’s report includes the following.
Reduced by fifty percent (50%). effective May 1, 2025, and for one year:

– the special contributory fee for the use of the port for the benefit of the administration and operation of ports of embarkation and disembarkation for passengers of all types of passenger ships, passenger ferries, and hydrofoils on domestic routes

– the port charge for vehicles embarking or disembarking on or from an inland waterway vessel, without prejudice to passenger charges
