Shooting in Uppsala, reports of casualties

Witnesses said five to six shots were fired in a square in downtown Uppsala

Uppsala has been put on a state of alert following a shooting in a square in the city centre.

In a statement, police said they received calls from citizens who heard loud bangs, which sounded like gunshots near Vaksala Square in downtown Uppsala.

Several people were reportedly injured, while police were unable to provide information on the condition of the injured.
