The draft bill concerning the selection of public sector supervisors will be put forth for public debate after Easter holidays, according to Administrative Reform Minister K. Mitsotakis. He reiterated that the public sector’s employee “mobility measure” has nothing to do with layoffs after the labour reserve measure which was agreed upon with the Troika, affecting a grand total of 25000 employees, is complete.

The Minister announced that the new wage scale for the public sector currently under revision will be readied by September and will include productivity bonuses. He also noted that the new wage revision will be co-signed by the Ministry of Finance.

The Minister also reiterated that there will be no more layoffs in the public sector, other than the 15000 agreed upon with the Troika for the 2014 goal, associated with the labour reserve measure.
