Little weather variability today and tomorrow – What to expect at the beginning of June

At 29.9 °C the temperature yesterday in Nisyros, at 90 Km/h the wind gusts in Karystos - The EMY forecast until Saturday

Newsroom May 27 07:25

The severe weather that swept across the country over the past 48 hours has now subsided. The north wind has cleared the atmosphere of the African dust that had blanketed many regions and choked Crete. However, some instability remains, with showers expected mainly in the mountainous areas of the mainland from midday onward. This pattern will continue through Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, with local showers primarily in the afternoons and midday, while temperatures are expected to stay below 30°C for the rest of the week.

Meteorologist Thodoros Kolydas noted, “The dust is gone, and we don’t expect it to return until the end of the week. Temperatures will stay at normal levels, with limited instability on Tuesday and Wednesday, and more notable showers forecast for next Friday and Saturday.”

Welcoming June

“We finally see the blue sky after many days,” says George Tsatrafillas, commenting on the current weather scene. As the meteorologist predicts, “With clear skies, northerly winds, dew, and midday showers mainly in the mountains, we are welcoming June! Good morning and have a great week!”
