Russian negotiators, according to information reported by Russian state media, handed Ukraine two options for a ceasefire.
The RIA news agency reported Monday afternoon that the first option requires Ukraine to begin a full withdrawal of all its forces from four areas Moscow has claimed as its own territory.
These are the Russian-controlled regions of Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhya.
The second option would be a “package deal” containing a number of conditions.
Russia’s TASS news agency, for its part, says that the full withdrawal of Ukraine’s armed forces from Russian-controlled territories “should take place within 30 days of the ceasefire.”
Also in Russia’s memo is a demand that there be international recognition of Crimea, Donbass and Novorossiya as part of Russia, TASS reports.
The Kremlin demands that Ukraine remain neutral, i.e. outside NATO.
