According to State Department electronic announcement message, the Greek Prime Minister Yanis Varoufakis had a telephone communication with his US counterpart Jack Lew, however, the content of the conversation between the two men was not disclosed.

A Greek correspondent of MEGA channel in Washington Michalis Ignatiou, supports that Mr. Varoufakis requested the support and intervention of the Americans in order for Europeans to change their view attitude on negotiations with lenders.

Later today the Greek Minister of Finance will meet with Michel Sapin , while tomorrow he will meet his British counterpart George Osborne in London and Tuesday he will meet the Italian Minister of Finance , Pier Carlo Padoan .
