An emergency meeting of the Government Council for National Security (KYSEA) will take place today at 18:00, chaired by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, focusing on the latest developments in the Middle East.
The Prime Minister is urgently returning from Sweden, where he was visiting to strengthen bilateral relations, particularly in the areas of economy and defense.
It is noted that earlier this morning, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement due to the state of emergency declared in Israel, following an attack on Iranian targets. The statement urges Greek citizens currently in the country to remain in a safe location, close to a shelter, and to strictly follow the instructions of local authorities.
It also reminds that Israeli airspace remains closed, resulting in the suspension of flights to and from Ben Gurion Airport.
At the same time, Greek citizens are urged to fill out their details in the relevant form so that communication can be maintained in case of emergency.
