If you tried to make a lunch reservation yesterday at the Papaioannou restaurant in Kavouri, you would have received a very polite decline – the restaurant was being prepared for a private evening event.
What very few knew was that Nike hosted a dinner last night in honor of the legendary Michael Jordan, considered by many to be the greatest basketball player of all time.
The basketball icon, who made history with the Chicago Bulls, arrived in Athens from Spetses, where he had been enjoying his vacation over the past few days.



A Star-Studded Evening
The event was attended by guests from various industries. The special dinner menu was curated by chef Giorgos Papaioannou, and entrepreneur Dimos Stasinopoulos was among the early arrivals.
Greek Flavors for an NBA Legend
The menu featured Greek salad, appetizers like sea bass sashimi and shrimp skewers, while the main course included grilled lobster, catch of the day, and meat options.
Preparations at the restaurant began early in the afternoon, and all staff members signed confidentiality agreements to prevent any photos from being leaked.
In recent days, the man who seemed to “walk on air” and performed magic with the orange ball was spotted at the Poseidonion Grand Hotel in Spetses.
