The government has released the transcripts of the two speeches delivered by Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis at the two critical Eurogroup meetings on February 11 and 16.
It is worth noting that this rather unusual move takes place just a few hours before the Government asks for an extension of the current loan agreement from its European partners. Government spokesman Gavriil Sakellaridis confirmed on Wednesday that the Finance minister will submit the request within the day.
The file that was released today by the Greek Government includes:
1. Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis address at the Eurogroup meeting at February 11
2. The Greek proposal submitted at that meeting, which ended without a joint communiqué
3. Varoufakis short address at the second Eurogroup meeting on February 16 that ended abruptly when Greece rejected the draft statement presented by the Eurogroup
4. A Non Paper released by the Government on that meeting
5. The Finance Minister’s statements at the press conference following the release of the two draft statements by Pierre Moskovisi and Jeroen Dijsselbloem.
