UK Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne views the debt crisis in Greece as leading to a generalized problem for the eurozone — a position independent of the fact that Britain is not in the euro area.

His statements came a few hours prior to the crucial eurogroup meeting. He also reiterated that the eurozone needs to find a mutually acceptable solution, while the UK should continue its monetary policy, which has “kept it safe”.
