Ten uknown women spent more than 50,000 euros this morning in Varvakeios meat market buying meat for those people who couldn’t afford to buy.
The women arrived in the central market of Athens at around 10am with four luxury cars. They were accompanied by security guards.
They got off their cars and according to the president of Varvakeios market, Kleanthes Tsironis, they went to selected stores and standed next to cash registers.
When they saw people who were unable to buy enough meat, they encouraged them to take more meat. At the end, the women paid the bill leaving both customers and owners speachless.

The women remained in the market until 12 noon and they left when they saw TV channel cameras approaching.
The ladies spent about € 50,000 on meat at Varvakeios market and their desire is not to reveal their identity.
However, this was not the first time that uknown women shopped for people who couldn’t afford to buy food. Last Christmas, according to Mr. Tsironis, unknown women spent more than 20,000 euros helping citizens to purchase a larger quantity of meat than they could afford.
