French govt sells off 6,500 vehicles

The government aims to reduce the number of its cars by 10% until 2017

Newsroom February 24 01:27

The French government is taking a little something out of the new Greek government’s “PR book”, selling off 6,500 ministerial cars in order to fill state coffers.

Francois Hollande’s socialist government hopes that this move will bring it 150 million euros. French FinMin Michel Sapin underlined the importance of finding funds in a smart way.

According to the French government the new cars to be employed by French ministers and top officials will be environment-friendly and much more economical. According to the French press, the government total “car fleet” reaches 65,000.
