The Ministry of Finance is oriented towards the funds that were left ‘unclaimed’ by the social dividend ,as a result of the criteria that were set (income of 2012,) and their distribution to more beneficiaries, based on the economic situation that is reflected in the statements of 2013 as well .
According to reports, in the mid- week a special meeting convened, with the participation of representatives of the Greek Socialist Party, PASOK, which will examine all the elements until the 30th of May 2014. A first estimate, however, shows that of the 450 million budgeted to provide the economically disadvantaged, and it seems that almost 30% or about 170 million euro will remain , if the criteria don’ t change.
From mid-April until the end of May about 200 million in total, seems to have allocated while the applications and lending rates have fallen.
On that basis it is under consideration , either to increase the income limits set for income 2012 (to 500-1000 Euro for most), and to cut the amount of the dividend that is greater of the original limit, or to check the statements of 2013 that will be submitted by the end of June and to be granted lump-sum grant to those who exceeded the income criterion in 2012, but fell below it in 2013.
